The 18th of June has been designated as “International Picnic Day”. In honour of this unofficial holiday, you may want to prepare a picnic and head to a park or picnic spot, where you can eat outside with friends or family. However, before you go out and spend the day in the sun, knowing the benefits and drawbacks of having a picnic in Cairo is important.

Picnic Pros:

1-     Spending Time in Nature Helps Overcome Mental Issues

Picnics allow you to take a break from your busy schedule and enjoy the outdoors, which is a major benefit. These days, many people can’t keep up with everything they’re expected to do. If you’re one of the many people who are frequently worn out, it’s crucial that you take some time to yourself for a picnic every so often. Turning off all electronic gadgets during your picnic will allow your mind to unwind as you enjoy the outdoors.

2-     You Can Bring & Share Your Favourite Foods With Others

The menus at most restaurants are somewhat restricted, and your go-to meal might not be available. In contrast, picnics allow you the freedom to bring your own food and eat whatever takes your fancy on your day outdoors. You might even have a mini dish party in the great outdoors if your friends bring their favourite dishes to share, too!

Picnic Cons:

1-     Attracting Bugs and Local Pets

While we adore the friendly neighbourhood pets we see in the parks and streets, they can be bothersome when it comes to our food. In particular, stray cats and dogs may attempt to join a picnic for scraps when everyone is sitting on the ground. If one of your companions isn’t animal-friendly, the problem is even worse. Flies and other bugs can be a nuisance, too, if they buzz over our food.

2-     Mostly Sustainable for Cold Food

When you go on a picnic, you won’t have the luxury of heating your meal, so you’ll have to do with cold dishes instead. Packing warm food with you will make little sense because it will get cold in transit regardless of when you consume it. Therefore, going on a picnic is not the best option if you want to eat hot meals that day!
