It’s been a couple of weeks since the start of Ramadan and the premieres of our new favourite series. While you may think some of this season’s Ramadan shows may not be up your alley, we guarantee you will enjoy them regardless because of their supporting actors.

Some of these stars are showing off characters as we’ve never seen them perform before, and others perfected their acting to present their best roles and performances to date this Ramadan. Check out our list of actors that upgraded the Ramadan series they starred in!

Shimaa Seif and Mohammed Tharwat — 1000 Hamdela Al Salama

via Misr Day

If you gave this series a chance and didn’t like it, we suggest you try once more because these two supporting characters are hilarious. We don’t know if it’s due to their funny natures, and we never expected to love them as a duo, but they certainly make this show better as the married couple they play.

Taha Desouky — El Suffaara

We don’t think Taha Desouky needs to make any effort to make people laugh; the stand-up comedian and actor is spontaneous with a natural knack for acting. And this year in El Suffaara, his witty nature comes to life with ease.

Fathy Abdel Wahab — Souq El Kanto

via El Aosboa

He may not be the main character, but Fathy Abdel Wahab still surprised us with his talent as the series villain. Despite playing the antagonist, the actor managed to make everyone sympathise and love him, meaning he portrayed all the character’s dimensions perfectly.

Ahmed Eid — Omla Nadra

via Filfan

You might have only witnessed Ahmed Eid in old comedy movies from the early 2000s and are familiar with his loads of “effehat” from past characters. But this Ramadan, the actor shows the public how phenomenal he is in Omla Nadra. We will dare say he is stealing the show alongside Nelly Karim’s on-screen brilliance.

Khaled Kamal — Rasheed

Khaled Kamal is undoubtedly one of the greatest actors of this new cinematic era, and his role in Ramadan 2023’s Rasheed proves it. Playing a character that transformed from poor and working in a filthy bar to building his own empire, the actor didn’t miss one scene to wow us with his two entirely different portrayals of one character.

Bassem Samra — Baba Elmajal

It isn’t news that anything Bassem Samra stars in becomes a hit. It must be simple when you’re an acting ghoul. The actor is extraordinary, taking on and excelling at any role without hesitation. And this Ramadan, we see him realistically play a stern boss who is not scared of anyone.
