One of the most highly awaited shows from Shahid in August, El Leila W Elly Feeha, just started airing and naturally, everyone is up in arms. Despite only two episodes of the show being released, it stars an unlikely pair that grabs all the attention: rapper Abyusif in his first acting role and controversial actor, Zeina.

Intended for more mature audiences, the show is directed by Hany Khalifa and succeeds in its intention of leaving everyone gobsmacked. If you plan on following up with the show, wait for the new episodes every Thursday.

However, if you want to know what the buzz is about first, read this article right now!

What’s it all about?

Interior designer Rasha (Zeina) has a lot of secrets and attends group therapy to unpack and discuss her issues. Soon enough, though, she finds herself in a predicament we see play out in the first couple of minutes: She has killed a man whose identity we don’t know yet!

While in group therapy, Rasha meets Hatem (Abyusif), who helps her out with something before going to her place to hang out. During this hangout, Rasha unveils her traumatic experiences, confiding in Hatem to usher in a new friendship.

Our thoughts

Alright, so despite being only two episodes in, we already have mixed feelings about this show. Its first episode is a little slow, and many events feel somewhat forced, although it gathers pace in the second episode.

Consistency aside, El Leila W Elly Feeha did make us cringe. The dialogue is interesting and already has us hooked, but some of the wording and phrases used by the characters don’t make sense.

We have to give this show tons of props, though, because it’s given us a story that has never been seen before in Egyptian entertainment. It’s fresh, engaging, and actually rather fun, as we get to experience a different method of storytelling. Naturally, we can’t avoid talking about the pairing of Zeina and Abyusif, as it was rather odd. The chemistry between the two doesn’t add up either, but hopefully, that will change as the plot thickens.

Speaking of plots, we think El Leila W Elly Feeha is going to take us on a topsy-turvy ride that we won’t be able to forget. The two episodes have certainly given us much to think about, and we know we’ll be waiting for the third one on Thursday!
