As we watched the mind-blowing show that is Mon’ataf Khatar, we found ourselves thinking only one thing; these Shahid original shows are simply too good to miss out on. Not only do these originals provide a welcome rejuvenation of the non-Ramadan TV season, but they’re also insanely entertaining.

So, now that you’re here, why don’t we give you an idea of what’s coming to Shahid soon?

The Devil’s Promise - Wa’d Iblis

Directed by English director Colin Teague (Being Human, Doctor Who), The Devil’s Promise is a bilingual work that delves into a fantastical world and tackles the story of a man who sells his soul to the devil in order to save the love of his life. Sounds a little repetitive, we know, but the promo will sell you this show. Know why? Because the devil is played by none other than Fathy Abdelwahab! Do we even need to say more?

El Leila W Elly Feeha

There has never been a more odd pair than Zeina and rapper Abyusif, but here they are in this show together! El Leila W Elly Feeha revolves around secrets, tensions, and what looks like an unexpected love affair. We’re not sure how we feel about the cast yet, but we’re highly intrigued by the drama and thriller elements involved.

Room 207

Adapted from an original story by the late Ahmed Khaled Tawfik, Room 207 will star legendary actor Mohamed Farag, which should be enough to get you hyped. If it’s not enough, then you need to know that this isn’t a regular thriller—Room 207 leans more towards horror as the story takes place in a mysterious room at a haunted hotel. We can’t wait to see the events of this show unfold!

The Accused

Having Dorra, Adel Karam, and Diab in one show is already one hell of a way to get audiences intrigued by a show, right? We can’t imagine what direction this show will take or how these three versatile actors will mesh together, but we’re excited by all prospects. A psychodrama, The Accused will likely tell the story of multiple mind games that the characters will play with each other.

The Affair

After his hit show, Rag’een Ya Hawa, aired last Ramadan, Khaled El Nabawy decided he’d wow us (as if he has any subpar works) with something new—an affair! Starring Khaled El Nabawy and Aicha Ben Ahmed, The Affair will be directed by Amir Ramses, which already gives it the edge it needs. Who knows what that cast full of charisma will produce?

Release date: End of summer, to be announced soon.
