Running for almost eight years, Brooklyn Nine-Nine followed the insane antics of the cops interrogating suspects, arresting perps, and solving murders in Brooklyn. But, ultimately, Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a workplace comedy that’s not really about the job—it’s about the men and women behind the badge!

And when we thought about it; we haven’t seen that in Egyptian media yet, right? So, why not imagine an Egyptian version of this wholesome sitcom starring the following actors?

Jake Peralta (Mostafa Khater)

Regarded as Andy Samberg’s best performance, Jake Peralta is Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s main protagonist. Despite his immature look and inappropriate one-liners, he is one of the NYPD’s best detectives. With his impressive arrest record, he’s charming and intelligent, even though he doesn’t always channel his abilities in the right direction.

For this witty yet dorky character, we can’t help but imagine Moustafa Khater walking around in a leather jacket with his badge hanging around his neck and involuntarily annoying everyone around!

Amy Santiago (Sarah Abdelrahman)

As the female lead of the show, Amy Santiago is not only Jake Peralta’s love interest, but she is also the brains and the teacher’s pet of the squad. She also frequently seeks out the approval of her boss, Captain Holt, and often goes to slightly crazy lengths to achieve it. This compulsive quirky character could be brought to life by none other than our talented young actress, Sarah Abdelrahman. Can’t you just picture it?

Raymond Holt (Mahmoud Hemida)

The impossible-to-read Raymond Holt is the precinct’s extremely professional captain. A strict, stickler for the rules, Captain Holt is also a warmhearted man whose devotion to his friends and his precinct knows no bounds.

He is held in utmost regard by his colleagues, aside from their mockery of his inability to display emotions and facial expressions. The character is insanely complicated and hard to portray. However, Mahmoud Hemida is capable of bringing Holt’s uptightness to life!

Charles Boyle (Edward)

Boyle, as he is commonly called, is Jake’s best friend, a role he guards with ferocity. He’s also a huge supporter of Jake’s relationship with Amy. While he might not be the most gifted detective, Boyle tries harder than anyone else. He spends his early years insanely in love with Rosa, who shoots him down at every turn.

Don’t we always see Edward, in movies, trying to score the girl and failing miserably? So, yes, we think Edward could be the precinct’s workhorse and anti-chick-magnet!

Rosa Diaz (Saba Mubarak)

Detective Diaz is the resident rebel of the ninety-ninth precinct. Known for being impossible to read, with an elusive personal life and a scary temper, Rosa is undoubtedly the ‘bad cop’ in a ‘good cop bad cop’ scenario.

Despite all this, Rosa can be vulnerable and a great friend, though it pains her to be one! For this sassy role, we can see Saba Mubarak being bold and cranky yet a terrific officer.

Gina Linetti (Amy Samir Ghanim)

Gina Linetti is a creature of a unique kind, serving as the civilian administrator and personal assistant to Captain Holt, to whom she is devoted. Cynical, narcissistic, and very clever, she leads with confidence first and is the precinct’s backbone in certain aspects. Doesn’t it sound like almost every Amy Samir Ghanim character?

Terry Jeffords (Ahmed Mekky)

Terry Jeffords is a huge character, literally. A large part of his role focuses on his muscular physique and him losing his nerve. But Terry is the sergeant of the squad from the beginning of the show and is fearlessly protective of his detectives and friends.

In an Egyptian version, Ahmed Mekky would be the most suitable choice, as we all know he can make us die from laughter and also a bit terrified, like in El-Kebeer Awi!

The Vulture (Ahmed El-Awady)

We know that Captain Keith Pembroke, AKA the Vulture, is not part of the core cast. However, we can’t help but see Ahmed El-Awady appearing out of the blue every few episodes to annoy and coldly steal Moustafa Khater’s hard work!
