Travelling during the Eid break is something of a tradition in Egypt, with most people either going to Sahel or Ain Sokhna. Since those are the two most popular destinations, it’s only natural that they’re the most crowded and hectic.

If you want alternative beach towns with fewer crowds and much more relaxing vibes, you’ll find all you need and more right here!

Dahab

A long-time favourite destination for many Egyptians, Dahab is simply irreplaceable. With a great beach, a relaxed crowd, and a lot of fabulous eateries, this beach town will provide a welcome reprieve from Sahel’s hecticness. Make sure to visit it soon, as the town is rapidly becoming more commercial.

El Gouna

One of the most sought-after destinations in Egypt right now, El Gouna is where you should be this break if you can make the trip! When you’re there, you’ll enjoy the beaches and have the time of your life with family and friends so much so you won’t want to come back.

Marsa Matrouh

If you need a perfect replica of Sahel, then Marsa Matrouh and its beautiful beaches are just where you need to be. And the best part is that it’s not that far away! Matrouh is also very family-oriented, and you won’t need ‘special access’ to enter, unlike in some Sahel compounds.
