As a thriller series written by Mohammed Amin Rady, Menawara Bi Ahlaha already had a lot of expectations before it was even released. Just like most of Rady’s works, this series will make you feel a bit lost between its multiple plotlines and flashbacks. Trust us, though; it will be worth your time!

Need more reasons to watch this show? Well, let us tell you just why it’s a must-watch.

What is Menwara Bi Ahlaha all about?

The show’s main storyline is about a murder investigation led by Adam (Ahmed El-Sa’adany), who tries to solve the case of a murder of an anonymous man by using pieces of photos he found in the dead man’s apartment. Adam starts interrogating people, which is how we start getting the flashbacks as we try to understand and solve the case ourselves! Wondering why it’s such a mystery? Because every single person has a valid reason to kill the man—he’s that horrible.

That said, here are four other non-plot-related reasons why you should be watching this show!

1-     Laila Eloui being unbelievably evil and cunning

As we all know, Laila Eloui is a talented actor who has primarily played the role of innocent and sweet ladies in her career, with a few exceptions, of course. For this show, though, she decided to go for a big change and take on a role we never saw coming. Her character, Salwa, is a very powerful businesswoman who has some shady dealing going on under the guise of her property business.

Without giving away too many spoilers, we can tell you that her ‘business’ includes locking up pregnant women in her house and taking their newborns for what looks like human trafficking. If that’s not evil enough, we don’t know what is! She speaks with nothing but hatred to everyone. And as much as it is scary to see her like this, it’s also incredibly entertaining.

2-     Bassem Samra being Bassem Samra

If you are already a fan of Bassem Samra, you already know that he has a pattern when it comes to the characters he portrays. And the character of Adel fits the bill perfectly! A fashion designer who wore a funny wig that we only saw him wear for one episode, Adel is Salwa’s son, but he is even more evil than his mun. You will see him uttering inappropriate jokes, threatening people, and drinking a weird beverage. And we can’t get enough of him or his evil!

3-     The high level of suspense

We can’t stress enough how suspenseful this series is! It will take you a really long time to understand what every character is plotting and their steps, and you’ll also struggle to understand who killed the victim. There is also another enigma, which is the fact that everyone is trying to get rid of Alya Fawzy (Ghada Adel) for reasons we can’t fully grasp. The flashbacks are intense and full of details that will leave you on the edge of your seat!

4-     The character development of Mary (Nahed El-Sebai)

Mary is an innocent character who falls in love with the con artist, Mohab (Mohamed Hatem). He tells her that his name is Michael and they get married. Shortly after their marriage, Mary discovers that she’s pregnant, and we’ll let you imagine the level of her disappointment when she discovers the truth! It’s important to highlight that Nahed El-Sebai’s performance is what seals the deal here, as she portrayed the role skillfully, showing us Mary’s multiple emotional states, from raging to vengeful to gullible.
