As an attempt to make Tuesdays more interesting (we know you all secretly hate a Tuesday), we decided to add a new segment along with our midweek CGuide. We’d like to present you to #TalentTuesdays, where we’ll be shedding light on local, or Egypt-based, talent through a one-on-one interview or feature. This is not just to show you how great and underrated these talents are, but it’s to highlight names you might have overlooked and to give exposure to people who truly deserve it.
So, let the talent scouting begin….
For our very first Tuesday talent, we chose to highlight Mira Sayad, a Lebanese make-up artist based in Egypt. Sayad is yet another corporate survivor who fled the 9-5 system and pursued her passion instead.
After she moved from Dubai to Cairo and gave her career shift a thought, she followed with nothing but persistence. The artist took intensive courses and workshops and got trained by big names in the field such as Soha Khoury, Bassam Fattouh, Fady Kataya, and even got some training at Lancome.
Mira might still be making her way through in an extremely saturated market, but her style with a Lebanese twist definitely distinguishes her. From natural looks to bold ones, her brushstrokes never fail to leave quite an impression. Yet, when it comes to Mira herself, she describes her ideal look as “plum lipstick, freckles with very glowy skin, peach and brown eyeshadow, no eyeliner, just mascara.”

When asked about how she stands out as an MUA, she told us, “For me, make-up is not only about perfecting the best techniques or pioneering the ongoing, changing trends. It’s also about comforting people and making them feel their worth. Only then do people genuinely smile, and my make-up shines.” Seeing that joy and satisfaction on her clients’ faces is Mira’s favourite part about her job.
We couldn’t leave Mira without asking her a few things that would benefit our curious female readers. When asked about the make-up brands she favours the most, Mira went for Anastasia Beverly Hills and Benefit Brow. “They’re well priced, very pigmented, easy to use and have colours that fit our skin tones”, she said.

And for some final beauty hacks and tips, Mira loves lining her eyes using a mascara instead of an eyeliner. “What I do is make a zigzag movement using the mascara brush to the roots of the lashes which draws a very thin and subtle line”, she explained. She also added that she noticed that most ladies here in Egypt have dry skin, blaming it on the weather. Sayad then said that hydration is the key for the make-up to fit one’s face and stay longer.
