Ramadan is the best time for actors to shine and show their acting skills. All the shows that air get the most views, which, of course, means a lot of ratings and popularity, and more work coming these actors’ way. Today, we would especially like to highlight the best Egyptian actresses who entertained us with outstanding performances in leading and supporting roles.

Rahma Ahmed – El-Kebeer Awi

We believe that the character of Marbouha will be remembered for ages! This well-written role was brought to life by Rahma Ahmed, and she did not disappoint. As El-Kebeer’s new wife, it must have been challenging to perform a character that replaces Donia Samir Ghanim’s Hedeya, but she does it perfectly.

Yousra – Ahlam Saeeda

The legendary Yousra has always provided us with some of the best characters we have ever seen on TV. This year, she plays Farida (or Didi), who suffers from insomnia,  although we think she mainly suffers from being a classist! This bougie old lady is loudly mean to everyone around her, yet has a big heart that will help her learn how to relax and fix her life.

Anoushka – Rag’een Ya Hawa

When it comes to classy Egyptian celebrities, Anoushka is part of Egypt’s crème de la crème (AKA cream of the crop), and she excels in aristocratic roles. In Rag’een Ya Hawa, Anoushka plays Sherifa, an elite mother who is not satisfied with her daughter’s lousy actions and keeps disrupting her lifestyle to make her a younger version of herself. Why does Anoushka have to be always so bossy?

Nelly Karim - Faten Amal Harby

Every year, Nelly Karim has to impress us with a new feminist role that exceeds all of our expectations. The character of Faten is a complex one; it’s not always easy to imagine ourselves in her shoes, but Nelly’s face is highly expressive, so all her emotions become ours. Faten fights for her rights as a divorced woman and a mother, making for the toughest journey ever as many obstacles get thrown her way. However, Faten is determined and doesn’t back down.

Saba Mubarak - Touba

In Touba, Saba Mubarak blessed us with the character of Ehsan, who is a tough young lady you do not want to mess with! The character also has a soft spot for good people, especially Touba. When people say, “get you a woman who can do both”, they definitely mean Saba Mubarak!
