Now that Ramadan and its TV season are almost over, we must talk about the elephant in the room: This year wasn’t the year of main characters, as all they did was annoy people and draw in indecisive feedback. Instead of the main characters winning all the praise and love as they always do, something else happened this year—-this Ramadan became the Ramadan of supporting characters!

Take a look at this list of the shows with the best supporting cast and you’ll see just what mean!

Sodfa, Niveen, and Ragab From Ahlam Saeeda

A few things make Ahlam Saeeda shine like its supporting cast does. And when you look at how these characters operate, especially Shaymaa Seif’s Sodfa, Mohamed Otaka’s Ragab, and Intissar’s Niveen, you’ll see what we mean. They steal the show every time they’re on screen!

Hadras, Fazaa’, Marbouha, and Ashraf From El-Kebeer Awi 6

Speaking of scene-stealers, we just can’t not mention El-Kebeer Awi’s cast. In this show, even the guest stars stun us with their performances. If you really want to know how good supporting characters perform, just take a look at Hadras, Marbouha, Fazaa’, and Ashraf—-you’ll witness an acting masterclass in action!

Farida, Maggie, and Yasmine From Rag’een Ya Hawa

What is Rag’een Ya Hawa without Baleegh’s turbulent love life? Very boring to watch, that’s what! So, we kind of owe that entertainment to the show’s supporting characters and Baleegh’s many love interests: Hana Shiha’s Farida, Nour’s Maggie, and Aya Samaha’s Yasmine.

Maisoon From Faten Amal Harby

While the story Faten Amal Harby’s titular role is very harrowing to watch, we can’t happen to love seeing the show for Faten’s friend Maisoon, played by Hala Sedky, who shows us a different aspect of womanhood in Egypt.

Alaa, Sayed, and Gigi From Maktoub ‘Alaya

Although Maktoub ‘Alaya is Akram Hosny’s comedy show, it’s the supporting cast who really shines through. With upcoming talents like Mohamed Touaima, Mahmoud Alsisi, and Hala Roshdy bringing characters like Alaa, Sayed, and Gigi to life, it’s hard not to laugh your heart out loud at the antics.
