For the first time ever at the Cairo Opera House, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, a hologram concert for the late legend, Umm Kulthum, will be held on the 6th of March in the grand theatre.

Minister of Culture, Dr Inas Abdeldayem, confirmed that the use of advanced, modern methods opens new horizons for old Egyptian artists to come back to life, making it easier to attract the younger generations.

The concert will be directed by Jihan Morsi, and the musical band will be led by Maestro Mostafa Helmy, alongside the two songstresses, Mai Farouk and Reham Abdel Hakim, who are known for performing the legendary singer’s repertoire.

This is not the first time that Umm Kulthum has had a hologram concert. She has made a virtual appearance twice before; in Saudi Arabia and Dubai Opera. Even though this might be Umm Kulthum’s first hologram concert in Egypt, it’s not the first of its kind. Last year, El Andaleeb Abdelhalim Hafez was also brought back to life at Al Manara International Conference Center, as he sang alongside Lebanese superstar, Carole Samaha.
