As we embrace the Ramadan spirit, we find ourselves, more often than not, parked in front of our TV sets. Naturally, this means a lot of TV watching, but it also means we’ve spent an excruciating amount of time watching endless ads. Although some of these Ramadan ads turn into all-time favourites we like watching over and over again, there are some that aren’t quite as good.
Let’s talk about a few of the less-stellar Ramadan ads right here!
Dice
via Shababek
An ad so bad it was pulled off the air, Dice got a little too close to a nerve with its humour. Depicting a guy wearing socks (most likely bought from Dice’s rival, Cottonil) with holes in them and having a doctor mention that they’re not treating the man because he’s ‘so poor’ might have sounded funny to the creative team, but it certainly didn’t go down well with audiences (and medical professionals)!
Bazooka

Did you ever think a fried chicken restaurant with branches all over Egypt would need an ad featuring Sha’abi singer Omar Kamal? If you said ‘no’, you wouldn’t be the only one as no one truly knows what the point behind this ad actually is.
Egypt Post

Although we just love the living Egyptian legend that is Amr Diab, we had a hard time understanding this ad’s direction. Nothing about the location makes sense, so we can’t help but wonder what the crew’s idea behind the ad was.
