According to Egypt Today, the Egyptian national team manager, Hossam El Badry, just announced that Liverpool player, Mohamed Salah, will be appointed as the new team captain.

The 27-year-old footballer is a proud a cornerstone in the team, and assigning him this position proves that. This came after Salah removed being a player in the national team from his Twitter bio, post the recent FIFA awards voting incident.

"We are always proud of you and we love you so much. Ignore the voting crisis quickly and we should work to please Egyptians," El-Badry addressed Salah on MBC Masr last weekend.

Salah still hasn’t commented on the decision. However, a few days ago, before the announcement was made, he expressed his love for his country and Egyptians. “No matter how much they try to change my love for you and your people, they couldn’t,” he wrote.
