The official account of the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) just announced that Menna Shalaby will be given the Faten Hamama Excellence award at the prestigious festival’s 41st edition.

The prominent actress will receive the award during the 10-day event’s opening ceremony, on the 20th of November, for all the remarkable achievements of her career. That makes her one of a very few celebrities of her generation to receive such an award.

Shalaby made her first appearance in El Saher back in 2001, which later landed her roles in further movies such as Ew’aa Weshak, Film Hindi, and Ahla El Awa’at. Her portfolio includes even more noteworthy movies such as Keda Reda, El Asleyeen, and Youssef Chahine’s Heya Fawda.

This is not the talented star’s first award; in fact, Shalaby’s an award-winning actress with multiple titles up her sleeve. Those include the Best Actress at the National Film Festival for Egyptian Cinema for her role in El Saher and the Best Actress in a Leading Role at the ART Oscar for her role in Harb El Gawasees TV series.

Congrats, Menna! Keep making us proud!
