Data collecting company, YouGov, just published its annual “World’s Most Admired” list of public figures. Every country has its own list of local and international figures. What was really exciting was the fact that Sir Magdi Yacoub and Mo Salah made it to the top of the Egyptian list. Of course, as if we needed reassurance!

This year, the company expanded to include 41 countries, and interviewed over 42,000 people to get the results. It’s worth mentioning that Sir Magdi got 24.03% of votes, with Salah on 20.3%. These two were among lots of other global influential people like Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, Malala Yousafzai, Queen Elizabeth II, Barack Obama, and Queen Rania.

It’s no surprise that Yacoub, the legendary heart surgeon, was on top of the list. He has dedicated his life to helping cure patients; he surely deserves being there. Same goes to the Egyptian King, Mo Salah. The man is an idol to the new generation. Seems like that’s another reason to add to our 27 reasons why we love Mo!
