Ramadan hit series El Ekhteyar, starring Amir Karara, took Egypt by storm when it aired. Every single household in the country was glued to their TV screens as families waited impatiently for the next episode. Not to mention the intensity of the 28th episode and how it brought everyone to tears. At the end of Ramadan, it was announced that a second part would be made, and yesterday, the faces of El Ekhteyar 2 were finally revealed.

The series director, Peter Mimi, confirmed that Egyptian stars Karim Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Mekky will be playing the main characters in the new instalment. The crew has already started preparing, and it’s scheduled to be released in Ramadan 2021.

Part 1 followed the story of the Barth massacre, highlighting the patriotic acts of the thunderbolt forces commander Ahmed Mansy and his battalion who were martyred as they fought back. The second part, however, will tell a different patriotic story; it still hasn’t been revealed though.

El Ekhteyar 1 was written by Baher Dowidar and produced by Synergy’s Tamer Mursi. Part 2 will also be produced by Mursi but written by Hani Sarhan.
