Last night, Miss Egypt Universe 2019 took place at Al-Masa hotel, ending with the coronation of the new titleholder, Diana Hamed. Beating 20 other contestants, Hamed earned the title after last year's holder, Nariman Khaled. Meanwhile, Aya Abdelrazek was named the first runner up and Mirna Mekawy followed as the second runner up.

Heading the jury was Hoda Abboud, former titleholder of the year 1986 and the very first Miss Egypt after the pageant was put on hold for decades. Alongside Abboud, the jury also featured Egyptian fashion designer, Hany El Beheiry; who was also the mastermind behind the contestants' gowns, as well as Egyptian actress, Nermine El Feky, and more. The event was also attended by multiple ambassadors, businessmen, fashion enthusiasts, and celebrities.

The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) celebrates women's beauty inside out, helps them realise their goals, and creates new opportunities for them. The annual international beauty pageant empowers women of all ethnicities and cultural backgrounds, enabling them to make effective, positive change and to become inspiring role models.

Hamed will proudly be the face of Egypt at the upcoming Miss Universe beauty pageant which will be held on the 19th of December in the US. This will be the 68th edition of the international pageant, where Catriona Gray from the Philippines will be crowning her successor.
