The past days have witnessed many prayers for our beloved star Yasmine Abdel Aziz, who was in a critical condition in the ICU after undergoing extensive surgery. Now, the actress is thankfully in the recovery phase!
Last Wednesday, Abdel Aziz’s husband, Ahmed Elawady, announced her release from the ICU and that she’s currently on the road to recovery, asking everyone to keep her in their prayers and to wish her well.
“Thank God, Yasmine is out of the intensive care unit, but the doctors’ instructions prohibit any visits for two weeks as she’s under critical medical care… I apologise for not picking up, but I hope you understand the situation I’m in. I want to thank you all for your wonderful feelings and love that was sent our way and to please keep her in your prayers”, Elawady wrote on his Facebook.
When Yasmine’s health declined, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi sent an integrated medical team to follow up on her condition and ensure that she received the proper medical care.
Dr Osama Abdel Hai, Secretary-General of the Egyptian Medical Syndicate, spoke to Sky News Arabia on the developments of her condition. He noted that she’s now stable and can hopefully leave the hospital within a week or 10 days at the latest.
He also explained that investigations are still underway to fully understand what went wrong during the surgery and whether or not there was a medical error. However, he added that it isn’t acceptable to release any misleading reasons for the artist’s health condition until they’re through with the investigations.
Our thoughts and prayers go to Yasmine and her family during these tough times.
