Thanks to the Coronavirus, many things have been cancelled, and others put on hold. From birthday gatherings and weddings to travel plans and large-scale international events, you name it. Yet, business owners, travellers, artists, and almost everyone has been looking for online and digital alternatives in an attempt not to let this pandemic win. And a couple of notable entities who just announced a killer collab are none other than YouTube and Tribeca Enterprises.

Tribeca Enterprises, the organisation behind New York City’s Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), and YouTube joined forces and founded their new online event; We Are One: A Global Film Festival. The 10-day digital film festival is not merely an alternative for TFF, but rather a collective of the world’s most prestigious film festivals.

So far, around 20 festivals have announced their participation in this virtual event. These include reputable names such as the Cannes Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, and the Venice Film Festival, to name only a few.

Starting on the 29th of May, the global festival will be available for live streaming on YouTube until the 7th of June. Cinephiles and film buffs all around the world will be allowed to watch for free; however, making a donation is encouraged. This is done to help aid and support the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, in addition to local relief partners.
