Just as some producers like to take part in the Ramadan season, others prefer to release their series before the marathon month for higher chances of viewership. And as lots of filmmakers are out there shooting for Ramadan, others are dropping their work TV channels and online.

Here are seven Egyptian series to add to your watchlist this winter.

#1 El Anessa Farah

Taken from the popular American series Jane The Virgin, El Anessa Farah follows the complicated story of a virgin who gets artificially inseminated by accident.

Ever since its release on MBC4 earlier this month the series has gone viral, making it the talk of the town on social media.

El Anessa Farah stars Asmaa Abu El Yazid, Rania Youssef, Arfa Abdel Rassoul, Mohamed Kilany, Ahmed Magdy, Mariam El Khosht, Tamer Farag, and Heba Abdel Aziz. The series is directed by Ahmed El Gendy and Wael Farag.

#2 Fe Kol Esbo3 Yom Gom3a

The 10-episode series is an adaptation of a novel of the same name, by Ibrahim Abdel Megid.

The first episode was released on Shahid.net; however, the rest will drop on Shahid Plus, which requires a subscription.

Fe Kol Esbo3 Yom Gom3a stars Menna Shalaby, Asser Yassin, Sawsan Badr, May El Gheity, Arfa Abdel Rassoul, and Khaled Anwar. Screenwriting is courtesy of Eyad Ibrahim, Mohamed Hisham, and Samar Abdel Nasser, while the series is directed by Mohamed Shaker Khodeir.

#3 Bent El Kaba’el

Bent El Kaba’el will be shown exclusively on the Al Hayat TV channel from the 18th of January.

The 45-episode series, falling under the fantasy genre, revolves around family life, complicated relationships, traditions, and revenge in Upper Egypt.

Bent El Kaba’el stars Amr Abdel Gelil, Hanan Motawea, Mohamed Reyad, Mahmoud Abdel Moghny, Menna Fadaly, Medhat Tikha, and Ashraf Abdel Ghaffour. The series is directed by Hosny Saleh.

#4 Mamlaket Eblees

Shahid.net just released the teaser for Mamlaket Eblees, mentioning that it will be released in February. However, it will be released on Shahid Plus, which requires a subscription.

The series is set in a local neighbourhood, where some mysterious and exciting occurrences take place every episode.

Mamlaket Eblees stars Rania Youssef, Ghada Adel, Sabry Fawaz, Ahmed Dawood, Eman El Assi, Karim Kassem, Mahmoud El Lithy, Salwa Khattab, Asmaa Galal, and Mohamed Gomaa. The series is written by Mohamed Amin Rady and directed by Ahmed Khaled Moussa.

#5 B Khat El Eid

DMC channel recently dropped the 45-episode series, B Khat El Eid. It revolves around the value of women in men’s life and vice versa, and how this issue can lead to a family’s happiness or misery.

B Khat El Eid stars Ahmed Rizk, Eman El Assi, Sawsan Badr, Safaa Galal, Mirna Nour El Din, Khaled Kamal, Mohamed Hatem, Mohamed Mahmoud, and Yousra El Louzy as a guest star. The series is written by Hala El Zaghandy and directed by Sherien Adel.

#6 El Le3ba

It was planned for El Le3ba to air in Ramadan 2019, but for some production reasons, it was postponed.

El Le3ba is a light comedy series that follows the life of two men who’ve been friends since childhood. Throughout the series, they face a lot of problems in a humorous format.

The series stars Chico, Hesham Maged, Mai Kassab, Nesreen Amin, Ahmed Fathy, Samy Maghawry, and Mohamed Tharwat, and is directed by Moataz El Tony.

#7 Khetm El Nemr

Khetm El Nemr is a 45-episode series that will begin on the 18th of January exclusively on ON E.

This drama series stars Ahmed Salah Hosny, Nesreen Tafesh, Merihan Hussien, Tamer Shaltout, Wafaa Salem, Afaf Shoeib, Hanan Soliman, Amir Salah El Din, Tameem Abdou, Gamil Barsoum , and Roshdy El Shamy. It’s written by Mohamed Abdel Moaty and directed by Ahmed Samir Farag.
