We know, we know—we’ve waited for Taslim Ahaly for too long, but it’s finally here! Starring Hesham Maged, Donia Samir Ghanem, Bayoumi Fouad, and the late Dalal Abdelaziz, this movie will make you laugh and cry. Yes, cry—especially when you realise that this was Dalal Abdelaziz’s final movie.

Since we’ve had the chance to see this movie, we obviously have to tell you all about it right here!

What’s The Movie Really About?

Taslim Ahaly tells the story of wife Zahya (Donia Samir Ghanem), a girl obsessed with the idea of happy marriage, and husband Khalil (Hesham Maged), a doctor who desperately wants to immigrate to Canada. However, the pair’s plans are foiled when Zahya’s mother, Bothaina (Dala Abdelaziz), and Khalil’s father, Sedky (Bayoumi Fouad), reveal a secret that they’ve kept for a long time.

We’re not going to spoil the plot for you now, but you need to trust us when we say that this movie is unpredictable and has one of the most interesting storylines.

Is It Worth Watching?

As a light comedy, this movie has a wholesome vibe that will instantly have you in a cheerful mood. The number of cameos from beloved Egyptian actors also adds to this wholesomeness, making us jump for joy every time.

You’ll also enjoy the movie’s satirical tone and eclectic plot, which are only this great because of Donia Samir Ghanem’s presence in her return to the big screen. So, in a nutshell, yes—we recommend this movie for a fun, light watch.
