It’s been a typically hot, hard Ramadan in Cairo and Eid can’t come soon enough for many – especially those who are taking advantage of the long weekend and hightailing to a beach. For those not so lucky to be getting a dose of sun, sea and sand for the holiday, the prospect of spending it in the capital is a bit of spirit-dampener – something that the folk at The Nile Ritz-Carlton understand.
Though it’s one of the newest luxury hotels in the city, The Ritz-Carlton has already established itself as one of the best in Cairo and they’re giving the city-stranded among us the chance to rejuvenate for the summer ahead after thirty days of fasting…
Pool-Side Cabanas...
There’s no beach in Downtown Cairo, but The Nile Ritz-Carlton’s special Eid pool day-use is a neat little package of an offer for 1400LE per couple that gives you one of fourteen spacious cabanas overlooking the swimming pool. The package also includes soft drinks and snacks (think fruit bowls and nuts) as well as free corkage on one bottle and Asprey amenities in the cabana – all to the background of music. Dancing is encouraged.
Big Brunch Buffet…
For the first two days of Eid, lunch buffets will be held at the Nile Ritz-Carlton, but the biggie comes on Friday 8th – the third day of Eid. The hotel are changing things up a little with a spectacular seafood-themed brunch that will include everything from salmon and sushi, to lobster and shrimp) for 495LE per person (inclusive of all taxes), between 1PM and 6PM. This is more than just a carnival of food, though; live jazz will be ringing through air, while kids will be kept plenty busy by the kids’ area, while local wine and beer will be available for an additional 150LE++.
Top to Toe Indulgence…
Now we get to the real deal – the spa. To mark the Eid holiday, the hotel’s spa is offering the Top to Toe Indulgence package for 1000LE++ - and when they say top-to-toe, they mean it. What this enticing package includes is a 45 minute full-body Coconut Scrub customised to your needs, as well as a Marine Breeze Facial to really give you the sense of being by a salty-aired, sun-kissed beach. What this does is oxygenate and purify your skin, as well as protect it from pollution and general wear-and-tear.
Hold on, though – there’s more. The package also hit the resident Mohamed Al Sagheer salon for a blow dry, mani and pedi. Now that’s lush.
