Egyptians have always been the glorious ones, haven’t they? The 13^th African Swimming Championships (that we all probably knew nothing about) started on the 10^th of September, and the Egyptian team has already won 15 medals!

Taking place in Algeria, the championship will end on the 16^th of September. Egyptian swimmers have so far managed to win 8 golds, 6 silver, and 1 bronze medal.

The men’s team was awarded a gold medal in the 50m backstroke, 100m butterfly, and 200m freestyle. In the 800m freestyle, Marwan Elkamash won a gold medal, and Marwan El Amrawy won silver. Also, Youssef Elkamash received gold in the 50m breaststroke, and silver in the 100m breaststroke. And finally, Ahmed Hamdi won a bronze medal in the 400m individual medley.

And, our super strong Farida Osman won gold in the 50m butterfly and a silver in the 100m freestyle, whereas Hania Moro was a golden in the 200m freestyle, and Samiha Mohsen and Rowaida Hesham both won silver in the 50m backstroke and 200m breaststroke respectively.

Hey, there’s one more thing; Egypt also won the first place in the mixed 4x100m freestyle thanks to Ali Khalafalla, Mohsen, Osman, and Samy.
