As a result of U.S government demands, Huawei has been added to the country’s trade blacklist. Thus, the Chinese leading smartphone manufacturer ended up losing its Android license.
The shocking news is causing mass panic among Huawei users, in fear of being unable to access Google Play Store, update their software, and the like. Egyptian consumers, in particular, could be affected as the smartphone has seen a high rise in sales in recent years.
However, Android took to Twitter to update current users who own Huawei devices that they’re safe. The current smartphones will continue to have access to Google services as the licensed open source version of the Android operating system will remain available to them.
For Huawei users' questions regarding our steps to comply w/ the recent US government actions: We assure you while we are complying with all US gov't requirements, services like Google Play & security from Google Play Protect will keep functioning on your existing Huawei device.

That being said, potential buyers should start considering other options. With skyrocketing smartphone prices in Egypt, consumers aren’t left with many alternatives.
