Breakups are hard, we know. We also understand that no matter how difficult they can be, that picking the right place after the infamous sentence (I think we should talk) is even MORE difficult than actually ending the relationship. As ugly as the situation might be, picking the wrong place could make it a hundred times uglier.

We know what you’re thinking. This is a harsh topic for an article, but think of it this way—if we don’t help you pick up the perfect breakup place, who will? Are we right or are we right? Now, that this is settled, let’s dig into it!

  • The Car

It might sound inconvenient, but the car is one of the most peaceful and private places where you could break up. Since it’s technically a secluded place, you can talk or yell without having any eyes on you watching the sad breakup scene play out. Of course, this is an ideal situation for those who have cars. If you’re thinking of booking an Uber for this purpose, please don’t do it.

  • A Quiet Café

Cafes are usually crowded and too loud, to the point where we can barely hear each other speak. However, there are still some cozy and quiet coffee places that aren’t overly crammed or suffocatingly commercial. You can go to these spots and have a decent chat without getting bothered by people or waiters asking you to order something in the middle of killing your relationship—talk about awkward!

  • A Park or an Outdoor area

Going somewhere outdoors when you’re considering a breakup is always ideal because some outdoorsy places, such as the park or somewhere quiet in the street where you could sit and talk will always be better than having the talk in a restaurant. Especially if that place was somewhere you used to go together…don’t do that!

  • The Beach

via the culture trip

It might be one of the most romantic places on earth but with the serenity of the beach and the sound of the waves maybe it’s the perfect place to leave a loved one without having to feel the negativity and loud noises around you that will make the breakup even harder.

  • A Place with Sentimental Value

Memories might bring people closer, but they can also cause them to drift apart. This is why we suggest you go to a place that you both really hated, or a place where you both shared a sentimental moment, such as the first time they asked you out or the first place you went on a date. Even if that place has a rollercoaster, you have to admire the irony.
