As one of Egypt's quickest rising event series, Theater of Dreams doesn't do anything by the half. And although it irks us a little that TOD uses the American spelling, theater,  and not the British spelling theatre, which we use, Mahmoud Zidan and co.'s consistency and commitment to booking top acts allows us to forgive this language clash a little easier - it also helps that TOD is set to close the season with a huge gig featuring legendary DJ and producer, Nick Warren.

Set to take place this Thursday (April 14th) at Zamalek's Riverside, the event is another reminder that the original perennial seaside festival has formed into much more since it debuted in January 2015. While many assumed that TOD would take hiatuses during non-beach seasons, the likes of TOD's Hernan Cattaneo Cairo gig last year and the Richy Ahmed gig in February proved otherwise.

Still standing as one of the most influential men in electronic music in his homeland, Nick Warren can rightly claim to have been one of the driving forces behind the dance music explosion in the nineties in the UK as part of record label, Global Underground, alongside  other DJ giants such as Paul Oakenfold, John Digweed and Dave Seaman.

We'd be doing Baher a grave disservice if we didn't rave about him, too; as one of the top local DJs, Baher has clearly struck up some kind of rapport with Warren, with the two having shared a line-up in Cairo last May. His win in the Electrum Records' Red Beats DJ competition in 2012, stint as Nacelle resident and trademark blending of deep tech and progressive house has cemented as one of the best over the years.
