Ever since it first launched as a beachside festival in Sinai, Theater of Dreams has gone on to become a big player on Egypt's nightlife scene and took another step up on what is becoming a crowded ladder when Mahmoud Zidan and his cohorts launched monthly Cairo-based series, Club Nights back at the end of 2016.

Several huge nights later, we're having to bid TOD a tearful farewell as it wraps up what has been a huge first season on Thursday 18th May at Downtown Cairo's Zigzag. But fear not, because they're closing the curtains in style, thanks to the cherry on top of this tastiest of ice cream sundaes with Tone Depth.

Although the acclaimed Montreal-based producer and DJ first made a mark back in 2011 with Rumble Fish on John Digweed’s Bedrock label, it wasn't till 2015 that he truly found his sound when he made the drastic decision to withdraw from urban life and settled in Quebec's scenic Laurentian Mountains.

It's not the kind of move you would associate with a man who's poison of choice is progressive house, but it's certainly shaped his sound, with critics noting the fluidity and simplicity of his music, doubled with his innovative use of melody. Also playing on the night will be local favourites, Baher and Hazem, ensuring a huge send-off for TOD and its faithful followers.
