As we sit just a few days away from the bog day, you've probably already been violated by the sickly seasonal stampede that is Christmas. If like yours truly, the season of goodwill to all men reads like nothing but a red and green tinted corporate charade, then these seven parties and gigs will be the warm bosom you seek so desperately. But, really, these are just seven cool events that we've tried to repackage in a way that jumps on the Christmas bandwagon.

THEATER OF DREAMS PRESENTS SOUL BUTTON @ ZIGZAG (Thursday)

 soul-button

In the latest collabo between Theater of Dreams and Zigzag, the Downtown bar is set to play host to one of the biggest events of the weekend, with Berlin-based deep house and ‘ethereal techno’ whiz, Soul Button, set to headline a night that will also see local favourites, Ouzo and Sebzz,  perform.

WHO KILLED BRUCE LEE @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB (Thursday)

 who-killed-bruce-lee

Speaking of Berlin, Who Killed Bruce Lee are back by popular demand this weekend at Cairo Jazz Club. Now based in the German capital, the electro-punk Beirut natives are set to kick off the weekend weekend in energetic fashion, with the one and only Safi also set to perform.

BOUNCE FT. DJ FEEDO @ DIJON BISTRO (Thursday)

feedo beach small

House, electro-punk and now hip-hop - there really is a little bit of something for everyone this weekend, with Dijon Bistro set to kick off their own busy weekend (more on that later) with the help of the hippest-hoppest DJ of them all, Feedo.

MAYOUNAH & NAKHLA @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB (Friday)

 mayounah

Once one of the most prolific female DJs in Cairo, Mayounah lives further ashore these days and so nights that see her return to her old stomping ground are not to miss. Joining her at CJC this Friday is peer and friend, Sherif Nakhla.

BREATHE OUT FT. AGUIZI & FAHIM @ DIJON BISTRO (Friday)

aguizi-fahim-587x315

Two highlight club events in one weekend at a place called Dijon? Who would've thought? Whatever the case, this bumpin' bistro's second big night in as many days sees dynamic duo and former SDJ winners, Aguizi & Fahim, lead the night.

SOROUR & SHEREEN ABDO @ CAIRO JAZZ CLUB (Saturday)

things-shereen-abdo

Something a little different than the other parties and gigs on this list, Cairo Jazz Club ends the weekend with Alexandrian folk-experimentalists, Sorour, on a night that also sees the versatile, sultry and enigmatic Shereen Abdo also perform.

THE WALK MAN SHOW @ THE TAP MAADI (Saturday)

walkman show

Fusing the bouncy, laidback stylings of reggae, with the jolly singalong-ability of Oriental music, The Walk Man Show wrap up the weekend at The Tap Maadi.

These are only a few of the events taking place this weekend across the capital - check out the Cairo Gossip calendar for more.
