The rumours you’ve been hearing are true! And if you haven’t been hearing any rumours, then here’s some fresh, grade-A nightlife news for you! The guys and gals that perfected the formula for party series in Egypt, Event Republic, are set to announce the triumphant return of the uber-popular ‘In the City’ – and it’s about damn time.

Kicking off on Wednesday 11th of March, the bi-weekly party is said to be hosting an international DJ and one of Cairo’s own each night, with Spring in the City set to lead the way, before summer sees Summer in the City kick in, and fall sees Fall in the City kick in (obviously) – that’s a total of twelve parties over a whopping six months. Mathematics isn’t a strong suit for Cairo Gossip, but our calculations make that about, hmm, let’s say loads of drinkin’, dancin’ and all round late-night tomfoolery.

With the Fairmont Nile City’s Skypool the venue of choice once again, this ‘In the City’ series will apparently take things up a notch this year, with cool-dude Peter Matta – of interior design brand, Beit Matta, fame – the magician in charge of making things look pretty.

The man to headline the first Spring in the City is Swiss DJ and producer, Croatia Squad – who hinted at the party some ten days ago – with the always brilliant Mohasseb also on the line-up.

Though the folk at ER are staying tight-lipped on other bookings, some office-espionage has revealed some pretty big names for the rest of the series, as well the very best in local talent.
