Music will always be our favourite escape from stress and daily struggles. That’s why, when we thought about this week’s talent, we decided to shed light on none other than Ahmed Samy El Adl, the DJ who can take you to another level of stress-free mindstate with his sick beats.
From his name, you can easily guess that Ahmed is the son of the late veteran actor, Samy El Adl. So, no wonder he found his way into this world as he grew up in a family of prominent artists.
Ahmed did have experiences in directing, as he worked as an assistant director on TV series such as Foo2 Mostawa El Shoboohat, Nesr El Se3id, and more. But unlike all his family members who are producers, writers, and actors, Ahmed decided to pursue a different artistic career in music. He didn't totally quit directing though; he just took some time off to focus on music.
El Adl Jr. decided to follow his dream of becoming a DJ. And so he did; the talented artist is now roaming Egypt’s venues and night clubs, playing the grooviest mixes and soundtracks. Not to mention that lately, he's been getting international bookings for shows in Amman, Tunisia, and Europe. Last summer, he played in Berlin, Paris, Limassol, and Zurich.
In 2015, Ahmed started his own music school, Strictly Vinyl, for those who want to practice disc jockeying. Not only that, in 2017, he also co-founded No Name - Sans Nom, with Ezzat Tadros. The monthly lineups they curate bring top-notch international DJs to the Egyptian electronic music scene.
