It’s no secret that Egypt took the world by storm, all thanks to the Pharaohs’ Golden Parade that took place a few days ago. It was broadcasted to over 400 different channels worldwide, as well as streamed live on the Internet.

If you have any speck of doubt in your heart that it was only sentimental to us Egyptians because of the personal history and heritage, then you are mistaken. The whole world was awestruck by what we were capable of pulling off on such a large scale and how we still put the time, effort, sweat, and tears into celebrating our history, which makes us the longest standing civilizations on this planet.

Arabic and English hashtags for the golden parade were used around 73 MILLION times per hour, which is an astronomical amount.

Starting with our very own Liverpool footballer, Mohamed Salah, who posted a clip of the celebration on his Instagram stating it gave him “goosebumps”, garnering over 2 million views, and the comments section was filled with love towards the country from all over the world.

Emirati singer Ahlam Al Shamsi took to Twitter, stating how proud she is to be an Arab, to be associated with Egypt, thanking Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his efforts to show the country in its most beautiful form.

“I can’t believe this is real and not a movie. Wow. So incredible. Twenty-two royal mummies parade from Egypt Museum in Cairo to the new one. Hair raising... shivers,” tweeted Filipina-Canadian UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, Daphne Oseña-Paez.

Scroll through more social media reaction from people around the globe who were equally emotional witnessing the event, proving once again that our legacy will stand the test of time.
