Egypt has been witnessing some exciting movies this year, hasn’t it? The filmmaking industry is evolving, and we’re proud of that. Next week, another major event is taking place in the cinematic industry: The 14th edition of the Panorama of the European Film!

The Panorama will take place in Cairo from the 17th of November until the 26th of November at Zawya Cinema in Downtown and Zamalek’s Cinema. But that’s not all there is! Alexandria residents should also get ready because the Panorama of the European Film will come to Alexandria’s French Institute at the same time.

Launched in 2004, the Panorama of the European Film annually showcases award-winning features and documentaries from Europe and Cairo. Zamalek Cinema via El Cinema

The Panorama is set to suit all different tastes because it’s added three more sections besides its regular ones! This year, its films are categorised into six sections. The normal sections of the Panorama are Main Narrative Features, Emerging Directors, and Documentaries. As for the new sections, they include the Krzysztof Kieślowski Retrospective, Uncanny On Screen, and Leiden Shorts.

If you’re already excited, you must be dying to know how you can get your tickets. Good news – you don’t wait.

As of today, you’ll be able to pre-book all your Panorama tickets at the box offices of Zawya and Zamalek Cinema or online! Tickets at Zawya range from 50 LE to 60 LE. While at Zamalek Cinema, tickets go from 75 LE to 150 LE.

Another World by Stéphane Brizé was part of the Main Narrative Features section at GFF and won the SIGNIS Award at the 2021 Venice International Festival. Additionally, Compartment No. 6 by Juho Kuosmanen, The Worst Person in the World by Joachim Trier, and The Duke by Roger Michell are among the long-awaited films in the Panorama’s programme. This year’s edition sure holds many exciting stories, doesn’t it?

The Panorama’s Documentary section holds a lot of intriguing selections, too, such as Life of Ivanna, which received El Gouna Golden Star for Documentary Film, the anticipated Silence of the Tides by Pieter-Rim de Kroon, and Al-lIn by Volkan Üce.

As the Panorama’s newest section, the Krzysztof Kieślowski’s Retrospective will feature some of the Polish director’s most iconic works. These works include Three Colours: White, Three Colours: Red, A Short Film About Killing, and The Double Life of Veronique.
