Taking a look back at El Gouna Film Festival’s (GFF) 1st edition two years ago, we can’t help but remember one of the prestigious event’s staples, Abu and Yousra’s 3 Daqat. The hit song has us playing it continuously on repeat to this day, and we can’t wait to see what GFF and Abu have in store for us this year.

This year’s GFF, that’s starting tomorrow night, will feature a new song, titled “Habibi ya Lail”, which is written and composed by Abu. It is important, however, to note that Abu’s involvement with GFF is not for fame or recognition, but to add artistic content for an event that is representative of a lot of cultural significance.

We are excited to see what Abu has for us after the great success of his stunning 3 Daqat. The song has been a success both nationally and globally, breaking records worldwide, and we hope and expect this new song to exceed our expectations. Can it be as good, or even better than the remarkable 3 Daqat? We will have to wait and see. But if there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that Abu will never fail to impress us with his talent and cheerful music.

The GFF, as we all know, does not seek recognition; it seeks talent and diversity. For that reason, Abu was appropriately selected to take part in honouring the festival’s ending. This was requested by the CEO of GFF himself, Amr Mansy. It is not only that one of the co-founders sought Abu, but the artist did the same. As he enjoys telling beautiful stories through music, he found solace through playing his part in a place that offers precisely what his passion speaks about.

In other words, both GFF and Abu were successful at finding each other in order to tell a story through art and music. Don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity, a musical adventure that will resonate with you and your loved ones.
