Being known for his creativity and bold approaches, Egyptian fashion designer Mohanad Kojak is a master at reflecting on his work, or should we say, works of art? The talented designer had a form of an ode prepared, and we’d have to say, it really touched our hearts.

To commemorate the death of his beloved grandmother, Kojak created Reverence, a collection that revives her memory in the most vibrant way possible. Last autumn, Kojak revealed the ready-to-wear designs for the SS20 collection. He used eccentric fabrics and embroidery that were all inspired by surrounding elements in his upbringing.

This week, the young designer started sharing snippets of the haute couture garments, and only last night did he unveil a rather uncanny, yet emotional, promotional video. Unlike the ready-to-wear collection, this one was quite dramatic. Set in his grandma’s humble apartment, the video showed people mourning. As much as this kind of expressive art is not for everyone, Kojak, as usual, didn’t fail to impress us with his powerful, emotional copy.

Hats off to the young designer on his great work. We can’t wait to see what he still has in store for us for this year.
