The hip-hop scene in Egypt has been evolving noticeably in the past few years. If you’re up to date, then one name that will probably ring a bell is Marwan Pablo. After making waves with hit songs like Sindbad and El Gemeza, Pablo dropped Free, and it’s garnered a whopping 500,000+ views in only two days.

To us, it’s not Molotof’s music production or Pablo’s lyrics that caught our attention. It was the brilliant music video that took the internet by storm. Shot in Pablo’s hometown of Alexandria, the finely executed production aced everything from the frames and the choice of locations to the editing and colouring. Not to mention that there was an obvious Travis Scott influence on the music video and Pablo’s overall style, with a little of some Drake’s hand gestures.

Free, now trending as YouTube’s number 1, is edited by Ahmed Ali, co-directed by Mohsen Sherif and Muhammed Ibrahim, who’s also the music video’s DOP. It’s also worth mentioning that Kojak was the brand behind the rapper’s wardrobe throughout the video.
