As one of the oldest superheroes in existence, Batman is universally loved and obsessed over by millions of people, Egyptians included. Unlike everyone else, though, when Egyptians make jokes about Batman, they’re usually just plain absurd and full of weird scenarios.
Speaking of weird scenarios, you’ve probably heard about the Battle of Helwan, which came into being because a bunch of Egyptian guys decided to battle it out to see who deserved the title of the ‘real Batman’. Yes, really!
So, why would any of these guys want to do something like this? Well, because they’re Egyptian and, honestly, that’s not the most random thing we’ve done! Our sense of humour is different, after all.
More On The Helwan Batman Situation
Everything started when a random Egyptian man from Helwan posted that he’s the real Batman. Of course, many started accusing him of lying, with everyone claiming that they were the real Batman and saying that they’ll go to Helwan to fight the imposter.
So, yes, that’s happening. As of right now, the battle to determine who is the real Batman is set to take place in Helwan on the 13th of August—there’s even an actual Facebook event if you’re interested!

Which Batman Do You Think Will Win?
While Batman would do anything to deliver justice and safety, we’re sure that the Egyptian version of Batman has the same goal. Whether he’ll be going about his day on a tuk-tuk (the Egyptian version of the Batmobile, duh) or doing basic house chores, we’re not sure if we’ll ever accurately imagine this Batman.
Also, we would love to see a bunch of Alfreds chilling on the sidelines as they cheer for their Batmen to win this battle.
DISCLAIMER: A hospital in Helwan is going to provide care for all the Batmen involved in the Battle of the Century. Yes, really! We’re not sure what’s happening at this point, but it seems like we’re gonna have a new justice fighter by the 13th of August.
