Today, the MENA News Agency has reported that a farmer in the Upper Egyptian town of Qena – the same place that the infamous Spy Duck was found - was arrested on Friday for insulting General Abdel Fattah Al-Sissi.

The farmer, whose name is Omar Abul-Magd, is reported to have placed an ‘army-style cap’ on a donkey, before riding through town and introducing it as Al-Sissi. There has been no suggestion that Abul Magd is a supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood, and there is one positive we can take out of this: at least the donkey wasn’t arrested.

Outstanding start to the week.

To the people of Qena: keep it coming.
