The first date is always awkward, whether in terms of conversation, how you eat, or who takes care of the bill at the end of the date! That latter part is the trickiest as some guys like to pay because they are MEN  and think society wants them to pay, while others like to split the check, which is also fair. On the other hand, women always feel shy when the bill shows up and they don’t know what to do. Even if they want to split it, it turns into a long moment of silence, followed by weird hand gestures and “should I?” expressions before the whole thing becomes incredibly weird!

This dilemma was, jokingly, solved on the eccentric land of Egyptian Twitter as someone bluntly asked who should pay for the meal, while another user casually retweeted a list of turns for paying for the first 8 dates! If this idea becomes official, it will save many people’s faces.

Another Egyptian Twitter user poked fun in the replies, saying that girls should marry those who remember the mentioned bylaws until the 5^th date. Honestly, it is a lot of restrictions to keep in mind. Maybe we should type it up on a brochure for romantic dates!

Many people were in agreement, while others thought that it will be hard to even reach the 8^th date. However, this fellow Egyptian user decided to joke that this whole dilemma is why relationships are ‘Haram’ in the first place! Ironically, when it comes to money, people can start questioning their morals and beliefs.
